About Zoology department.

Zoology is an interesting subject that is highly appreciated by students, because it imparts the most useful knowledge of our daily life. Zoology no longer remains a pure subject, and has been revised extensively making it a more interdisciplinary science to cater to the present scenario which is largely research and application based.

The Department of Zoology was established in the year 2009 with Zoology as one subject up till third year. It runs undergraduate course as per syllabus framed by Mumbai University. Zoology Laboratory is equipped with instruments like Incubator, Centrifuge, Microscopes (compound, dissecting), skeletons, Lactometer, Stethoscope, electrophoresis, besides glassware, chemicals and other materials.

Every year Zoology students were taken for excursions, biannual magazine release, workshops, Webinars, guest lectures were organized. MOU`s help the Zoology students in providing first-hand experience in Prawn culture and Hematology workshops.

Besides Remedial classes, Bridge courses, workshops/webinar  on Nutrition, First aid, AIDS Awareness, Guest lectures on IPR, Environment and conservation were conducted.

The results was always more than 80 % and many times reaches upto 100 % of Zoology students.  Placements of students in various fields like Paramedical, Fishery, Clinical Research, media etc.

The three faculties are doctorate in Zoology with reorganization in Ph.D students Guideship and P.G teacher Reorganization, as well as achieved Minor and Major Research Projects with patents and Publication of Research papers in National and International level.

• Every year Zoology department conduct excursion tours for gaining first hand experience from field.
• A bi-annual magazine is released every year.
• For T.Y. Zoology few experiments were repeated for absent students.
• Workshop/webinar/seminar/group discussion/awareness programs were conducted from time to time.
• Guest lecturers were called as and when needed.
